A heavy equipment operator assists the foreman in production goals for mass grade of a project. By efficiently understanding and safely operating equipment to achieve building a project within project guidelines.
2. Responsibilities
Operate all types of heavy equipment in compliance with the company’s operating safety policies and procedures”. To complete project tasks
Provide recommendations for maintaining and improving project performance
Read and understand operating manual for each piece of equipment. Follow all 3
Ensure equipment is clean and free of debris. Delegate window cleaning to basic labor.
Be willing to perform labor as needed to complete tasks.
Clock in to busy busy as soon as you arrive on the site. Check with foreman to ensure you are selecting correct phase codes, job number and hours
Take 3 pictures each day of work completed and upload to busy busy with brief description outlining progress.
Check filters and greasing ensure that maintenance of equipment is being completed properly. Do not let a noisy pin go unattended all day.
Keep work area clean by collecting and disposing of scrap, excess materials, and refuse. Keep all materials clean and separated (ie asphalt, concrete, trash and waste)
Inspect equipment daily. Upload pictures of equipment that need maintenance to busy busy with equipment number and a description of the issue.
Proactively communicate with foreman, superintendent and coworkers to ensure production schedule.
Complete required paperwork, reporting, and other documentation as required
Intermediate ability to read and understand plans and specs and apply to build project.
Beginning to understand finish grade with regards to the motor grader and getting some on the job training for this.
3. Requirements
1+ years of beginner operating experience / per machine
Understanding of production procedures
Operate equipment in a safe manner, adhering to all OSHA and Company regulations
Ability to interpret plans and survey stakes
Intermediate ability to read blueprints and specs
Analytical skills
Must have reliable transportation
Ability to work in all weather conditions
Teamwork and communication skills
A valid OSHA 10 card must be maintained
A valid Dust Control Card must be maintained
4. NDX Provided Items
Hard hat. Reflective work vest. Gloves. Safety glasses. Ear protection. Each item is replaced quarterly.
Large tools such as sledgehammers, pics and digging bars.
NDX does not support pay advances or loans of any kind.
Other items to note
Employee will receive a copy of the NDX safety and regulations manual.
Employee will sign an agreement which states you agree and will follow manuals.
You will be on a probationary period for 90 Days from hire date.
Reviews will take place within the first- two weeks of each quarter.
Financial reviews may be requested one time in a calendar year period to evaluate.
